Multifunction synthesis plant

This facility is used for the scale-up of chemical synthesis routes on a kilogram scale, because there has long been a need to have functional additives and special polymers available in somewhat larger quantities at an early stage of innovation in order to be able to evaluate results from the laboratory under conditions close to production in cooperation with industrial partners. In this way, we combine the diverse processing options with our many years of expertise in the field of organic and macromolecular synthesis chemistry to modify plastics.

Chemical syntheses, also under explosion-proof conditions:

  • Single- and multi-step chemical reactions for the development and modification of special active substances, functionalising polymer additives and monomers
  • Formulation development and optimisation for the synthesis of chemical compounds
  • "scale-up" of chemical synthesis routes on a Kg scale
  • Distillative purification operations in high vacuum at throughputs of 5 - 15 kg/h
  • Recycling strategies of chemical processes

Analysis of chemical reactions

  • Reaction analysis by means of online IR spectroscopy (IR probe)
  • Calorimetry of chemical reactions
