Summary of the objective
A novel, antibacterial functionalisation of catheters is to be generated by coating with a bioresorbable polymer and bacteriophages. By using bacteriophages, a specifically effective component is used that is not expected to cause cytotoxicity problems. The bioresorbable coating optimises the release of the active ingredient. This creates a specifically antibacterial catheter with a continuous release rate.
