Electromagnetic shielding plastics

It is a well known phenomenon that the incorporation of relatively small filler concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNT) into polymer matrices enables the production of composites with significantly lower electrical resistance values. These can then be used in housing materials that protect electronic modules and assemblies against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).

The TITK can process binary polymer/CNT- composites and special plastic-CNT hybrids with a metal component or soft magnetic filler into microwave shielding housings for use in the high-frequency range.
