Main Topic
TPE 08 focuses both on fundamental research and on the technology
for manufacture of:
- OFETs & IPCs
- Polymer solar cells, OPV
- OLEDs
- Sensors based on OFETs or photonics.
The objective of TPE 08 will be to discuss in detail various approaches
to polymer electronics development and fabrication in connection with
- material problems (functional polymers of industrial relevance,
barrier materials, and large area production of thin layers)
- open technological problems / novel approaches
- application fields of plastic electronics
- the market forecasts for it.
Furthermore fundamental problems shall be discussed, like
- Generation of high performance materials including high charge
carrier mobility in polymer semiconductor layers
- Air-stable long-life organic semiconductors, also in the presence
of moisture, light and heat
- The role of dielectric in achieving low operating voltages in
OFETs
- Generation of a tailored morphology in bulk heterojunction polymer
solar cells
- Implementation of new concepts
- Multilayer device architectures and integrating multifunctional
devices on a single substrate
- Organic memory, organic power source and storage
- Low-cost non-lithographic production of fine electrodes < 10
µm
- Lab-on-chip technologies
- E-papers, electro-chromic displays
- Circuit design and RFID applications
