 Fibre-reinforced composites

The research area of fibre-reinforced composites comprises

  • Material development
  • Process development
  • Technology development

The development of materials is realised particularly in the field of textile semi-finished products (non-woven, fibres and filaments) and the achievable properties in the composites (thermoplastic or thermosetting). Hereby processes of composite manufacturing like moulding, injection moulding, winding are used but also process developments like for manufacturing of textile granulates for the injection mouldings are implemented. Developments with good prospects are accompanied till the pilot scale in order to facilitate the industrial realisation.

Furthermore comprehensive works are implemented for technological developments and optimisations leading for instance to impact resistant fibre-reinforced composites using appropriate fibre blends.

The knowledge, competences and skills of the textile- and plastics-engineers connected with the almost perfect matched technical equipment (Link) offers a warranty for realisation of innovative ideas, especially in the fields of fibre-reinforced composites.
