Development

  • Adaptation of surface energetic parameters (surface and interfacial tension, contact angle, surface free energy)) of coating materials to the substrates
  • Optimisation of coatings and coating processes
  • Development of methods for special applications
  • Development and implementation of special contact angle measurings, among others temperature-dependent (peltier temperature chamber) measurements using inert gas, recording of video sequences and evaluation of individual images (with High-Speed-Camera), e. g. for volatile liquids
Characterisation of materials

  • Determination of surface and interfacial tension of liquids
  • Measurement of the contact angle with different methods (static / dynamic) and calculation of surface free energy of solids
  • Determination of polar and disperse fraction of the surface energy of solids and liquids - Prediction of wetting behavior of solids and layers ("Wetting Envelopes") and evaluation of adhesion, e. g. of varnishes and coatings
  • Carrying out of special contact angle measurements, e. g. temperature-dependent (peltier temperature chamber), measurements using inert gas
  • Determination of the maximum angle of inclination with tilting table, e. g. Lotus effect
  • Determination of the contact angle on curved surfaces
