 Quantitative microscopy and coating

  • continuous and discontinuous manufacturing of thin functional layers for multi-layer stacks (reel-to-reel and in a laboratory scale)
  • Development of technologies for the processing of functional multilayers and their application for polymer electronics and photovoltaics
  • Optical microscopy using equipment (several microscopes, polarisation microscopy, differential phase contrast), speciality: representation of thin film surfaces and 3D representations
  • Quantitative evaluation of micrographs, e.g. distribution of fibre lengths, particle analysis
  • Confocal microscopy for representation of three-dimensional micro and nano structures and roughness of surfaces
  • Measuring of contact angles and determination of surface energy and tension

    Projects

  • Development of a pressure sensor for explosively endangered rooms
  • Development of an opto-electronical signal guide for safety applications
