By successful investigations already practical experiences exist in the realization of organic thin film field effect transistors on polymer basis and simple circuits. Due to their experience and equipment the TITK team is in a the position to develop and characterize independently complete OFET's, which corresponds to the international level in this area and knows by in the last years grown co-operation with innovative enterprises also the requirements of the industry, to the technology development for polymer electronics. At the TITK several processes for the production of gate- and source- drain electrodes are established and prepared for the development. One of the laser manufacturing processes is based on the local ablation of conductive polyaniline (PANI) and Baytron (PEDOT/PSS). The preferably used excimer-laser is suitable with 248 nm for the production of sharp edged conductive ranges in nm-thin layers. There exist experiences for the laser pattern of source- drain electrodes from conductive polymers and also from of gold and other metals with the structure width of 5 µm. Due to the research in the area of polymer electronics, already successfully started, the TITK has also the most substantial equipment and the necessary scientific surrounding field.
