Plastics replace other materials such as steel or glass increasingly. This development is based on the outstanding properties as light weight and easy processability as well as the freedom in design.

The aim of the department Plastics Research is the integration of additional properties and combinations of them respectively and the development of suitable manufacturing processes to make synthetic polymers usable for a wider field of application.
