The ability to create innovations has a major impact on the development of the economy and employment.

The pooling of existing expertise through the establishment of alliances and partnerships between industry and science enables the propagation and commercial utilization of knowledge. We believe that our own continual expansion of knowledge through research, continuing education, knowledge transfer, and the formation of networks and partnerships is indispensable if we are to be recognised as a competent and reliable research partner for innovative companies.

Technical and practically oriented research at TITK is supplemented by new results from the field of fundamental research through our activities as an An-Institut (affiliated institute) of the Ilmenau University of Technology, a partner in the Competence-Centre Polysaccharide Research and the European Network of Excellence "Polysaccharides" (EPNOE), as the initiator of the "Wachstumskern ALCERU-HIGHTECH" network, and as a partner in various R&D cooperation projects with Jena University of Applied Sciences (UAS), Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena and other universities and research institutes.
