Integration of TITK and OMPG into the Wachstumskern ALCERU-HIGHTECH network

The innovative regional network was created with the objective of developing the region surrounding the city of Rudolstadt into a nationally and internationally recognised centre for the research, production and marketing of functional and engineering materials based on cellulose.

The achievement of this goal is closely linked to the improvement of the ALCERU process as the core technology platform

 
Since June 2005 TITK becomes an affiliated institute of the Ilmenau University of Technology
 
October 2005 Foundation of smartfiber AG with OMPG as one of two principle shareholders. smartfiber AG carries out the commercial implementation of TITK research and development results through its production and marketing of specialised fibres manufactured using the ALCERU process.
 
April 2006 OMPG acquires a flocking plant from Coronet Schwarza GmbH in order to expand its business division for this sector and promote the development of new innovative flocked products in cooperation with TITK
 
July 2007 smartfiber AG acquires production facilities from SeaCell GmbH in order to expand its production capacity for functional cellulose fibres
